If you live in Woodstock or Atlanta and are missing all of your teeth, getting a full denture from Georgia Denture & Implant Specialists is a great way to restore your smile. Our tooth replacement prosthetics/appliances are economical, natural-looking, and durable.
How Long Do Dentures Last?
At a minimum, a denture should last you five years. Many people can get up to 10-15 years out of a denture. With time, the tissue in your mouth will change shape and you may notice that your appliance doesn’t fit as well as it used too. Denture teeth also wear and stain just like natural teeth do. Eventually, they’ll need to be repaired or replaced.
Denture Repairs
To a certain degree, we can make adjustments and minor repairs to your denture, but there will come a time when we recommend you get it replaced.
If your appliance doesn’t fit as tight as it used to, we can usually reline the inside of the plate by molding a new layer of acrylic to the shape of your gum tissue. This method is very effective and can give you the precise fit of a brand-new denture.
Your gum tissue changing can also cause tenderness or irritation. Our dentist can locate the source of the problem and adjust specific areas on your denture so that it doesn’t rub your gums.
